1918 - Born on 18 July
1944 - Helped found the ANC Youth League
1950s - Resigned from ANC
1952 - Opened the first Black Law firm. Defiance campaign
Late 1950s - Charged with treason, proved to be victorious
1960 - Advocated armed struggle through the Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK)
1962 - Arrested. Sentenced to life imprisonment
1990 - Released from jail
1993 - Awarded "Nobel Peace Prize"
1994 - Became president of South Africa
1999 - End of Presidency
2013 - Passed away on the 5th of December
